La Trattoria

Just about clinging on to its reputaion as Marrakech's finest Italian restaurant, Trattoria de Giancarlo serves good food in enchanting surroundings. The Felliniesque inetriors (lush, occasionally lurid and more than a little louche) are designed by locallegend Bill Willis and are a delight - infact, they are alone worth a visit. The best tables are those overhung by oversized greenery out on the tiled garden terrace. The latter is situated beside a large luminous pool. In the evening the place is lit by lanterns and candles to ridiculously romantic effect, While the menu is hardly extensive, it holds plenty of broad appeal(a variety of salads, severla vegetarian pastas, and an array of meat and seafood dishes). Service is exellent, verging on obsequious. 'Would sir like his beer whit a head or without?' Reservations are recommended.

Une trés bonne table de gastronomie italienne (pâtes, viandes, poissons) installé dans une villa des années 1920 où Art déco et influences hispano-mauresque se mêlent pour créer une atmosphère feutrée et voluptueuse. Les romantiques apprécieront tout particulièrement un dîner aux chandelles au bord de la piscine. Les prix sont à la hauteur du décor : comptez environ 450 dh pour un repas complet.
